Hello everyone!

I'm hoping that someone could provide me with some inside info on the apt market in this Area. Here's a lil background....I moved to NW Alabama almost 2 yrs ago from N. Jersey and when I first moved here I searched for a whole foods...the closest was in Franklin (that's how I stumbled upon it). It appeared to be a very nice community, lately I have been interested in possibly relocating to the area...

Here is my question...I am looking for a 1br...nothing spectacular but not run down either...what is the average market price for 1br in this area...Is Nashville very far? In my travels I have noticed that Nashville traffic can be kinda S L O W...and I've been stuck in plenty NYC traffic so I know Are there any other nice/small areas around Nashville that I might be interested in? I live a pretty boring life...I would just mainly prefer a town with a nice library/coffee shops/small dining etc...IOW...I am tired of "city" life which I am sure I'd fine in Nashville...Any suggestions?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

We rent in Franklin. Moved here last July after a year in memphis and about 30 years everywhere else! LOL Anyway, we wore ourselves out looking at a ton of apartment complexes in the Nashville burbs and settled on Franklin and we're very happy with the choice. We pay $969 for a two bedroom...I think the one bedrooms were around $745 when we were looking. If you want some info about particular places...DM me...I've probably checked it out.

Oh...and....we are seriously considering moving this summer into a bigger place at the new Dwell at McEwen and there is going to be a brand new Whole Foods built there.

Where will your job be located? There is also a Whole Foods in the Green Hill area of Nashville. A new one is being built in Franklin(Cool Springs) but not sure when that will open. The one that is there now does not have the Amenities of the Green Hill one.
There are some 1 bedrooms in Franklin for $699, Franklin Oaks Apt.
We looked for my son there, but he did not get job in that area but instead got a job with same company in Murfreesboro, where we got a 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath for $685 a month, in a really nice complex. It has a Clubhouse, pool, and exercize room.

Franklin is like that movie the village of the damned, except the ankle bitters that dominate the landscape have not been brought up right; their yuppie parents are too busy sipping on their starbucks to notice them screaming bloody murder or disturbing others trying to enjoy public places. If I behaved the way these children do in this town my parents would have worn my butt out. Also Franklin looks like a nice Southern town with all the pretty buildings but the people are not nice, not Southern and not at all pretty. There is a general lack of manners and Southern hospitality is non-existent unless you go et at Dotson's. Sure there is a generous amount of evidence that this was once the South like street named Confederate Drive or the Confederate Memorial downtown but in the end it is the people that make a place Southern. To find any trace of true Southerners I have to go eat at Dotson's or drive down to Colombia, otherwise its like all of these people relocated here from Ohio. I'm so glad to be back in the Deep South and won't be going back to Franklin ever again. Oh and if you decide to go into Nashville looking for country music or Southerners there...goodluck. Your more likely to find a gang of emos parading the streets with bleached hair and tappered jeans. I was called preppy by some white trash with a double eagle tatooo watching a hockey game in this bar where they were playing some crap sung by Taylor Swift. Looks like this part of Tennessee is ruined just like South Florida.

That is not true. I do not live in Franklin but have spent ALOT of time there as it is one of two places around Nashville that I am considering moving to. The people there are very nice. I have not once had a problem. I can't really help with apartments because I am looking to rent a house.
