Just searched craigslist, this one is a great deal for the area but it's only 435 sq. ft. If you could live on Fairfax though you would have the best time ever living in Nashville. Here is the link Pre-lease a studio for March! (http://nashville.craigslist.org/apa/1018127129.html - broken link)

East Nashville was one of my recommendations based on the artsy vibe you were seeking but there aren't a lot of apartment buildings there & the ones that are there I wouldn't put you in.
ya i'm searching around online and all the stuff in my price range seems slightly outside of the areas yall mentioned...like some nice apartment complexes with pools. hm.

yes, i will keep looking. but thanks for the names of the neighbohoods, that helps.

Are those the apartments that used to be a convent?

It's a great location! I'd jump on this if I were living alone. It's a little pricey, but the neighborhood and convenience make up for it.

Mad Fiddler I'm not sure if it was a convent. I saw the OP's price range was $575 & I thought, hmm he/she isn't going to find anything close to that in the village so I searched on Craigslist. I was surprised to find this listing for $729. I personally would gladly sacrifice a few hundred square feet to live alone! Especially since they'll save $$$ in the long run through convenience. You definitely wouldn't need a car.

thanks. this helps.
I know you can get something for $515 on Edmonson Pike, near old Hickory Blvd, Nashville. I believe there are busses near by. At one tme I looked at an apt there for my son. He ended up getting a job in Murfreesboro, and renting there. The kitchen and bath are kind of Basic, not renovated, but complex does have a pool, and nice outside appearence.

The price listed on the site is wrong as I just passed them the other day, with the $515 posted on a sign with Balloons. Its not near a whole foods, but is near Publix. Its in a section called Nipers Corner.

Default I think you might like this: $550/month in East Nashville!

Someone just posted on the East Nashville listserv saying that they have rented a mansion and need roommates. Rent would be $550 including utilities! Here is the link: Gorgeous rooms available for rent in historic East Nashville mansion - utilities included - East Nashville | Google Groups

You probably won't be able to see the sender's email address or post right away, but I'll be happy to pass info on if you need me to do so.

I would advise reading some of these before you check out Bradford Woods:

Bradford Woods Apartment Ratings, Reviews, Map, Rents, and other Nashville apartments for rent from ApartmentRatings.com

They're cheap, but so are housing projects. The Edmondson Pike suggestion, however, is a good one, I would just look at other complexes besides this one. Try The Preserve or The Arbors of Brentwood.
