We have been known to take our coffee to Pancake Pantry. We're never the only ones doing it. I'm not complaining, though. As good as everything else is there, they can serve awful coffee forever!

Is Provence still around? When my brother lived in Hillsboro Village we'd take a walk to Provence and hang out. Neither of us drinks coffee, but we're big fans of their pastries. I used to live in France, and I can appreciate the fact that Provence brought in French oven makers to build real French bread ovens so that their baguettes and French pastries are pretty darn authentic (certainly better than anything I can get in Knoxville).

The BEST bakery is La Hacienda on Nolensville Road. Eat at their restaurant next door & then swing by the Mercado & check out their baked goods!

Provence is fantastic... try their chocolate croissants sometime!

I always loved Becker's as a kid... haven't been recently, as they're not anywhere near me now. They're not much of a sit down and have coffee sort of place, but the cakes are to die for.

Dutch Maid Bakery in Tracy City is always good, too. (ok, it's not even that close to Nashville... but I had to mention them!)

For anyone interested I snapped about 10 pictures of the bakery section of La Hacienda on Nolensville Road. They have some yummy stuff that can be viewed at the following link: www.OneModernGirl.blogspot.com

Mmmm.

Co-sign! Yes, out of Nashville, but always a good time. I've never given a hoot about anyone's political beliefs while drinking coffee so I'm not sure where it falls on that scale, I think they take everyone.

What is this Pancake Pantry you speak of?

I'm easy when it comes to coffee...Dunkin' Donuts Cinnamon is still one of my faves.
