Fairview is Beautiful
I visited Fairview twice 4 & 5 years ago. It is very small, but so beautiful and quiet, and the people there were very friendly. I went to visit my friend's sister who lived there back then, but she moved to Spring Hill a year ago, I believe it was because she said the town was too small for her liking. Anyways, I loved it there so much that my husband & I are moving around that area soon, as soon as he gets confirmation on a job. I am so excited and can't wait to move there. The only problem we are having is that we need to find an apartment to live in until we purchase a house, and we have no clue which apartments are nice and reasonably priced. I'm really scared moving into an apartment sight unseen, especially because we have a nine month old baby. I've read some apartment reviews that sent chills up my spine, with the mention of brown recluse spider infestations & mold problems. Moving is going to be scary, but worth it in the long run. Good luck to you and your husband!

I'm from FL but buy homes in Nashville and areas. Don't even try to commute to Nashville from down there. Traffic is awful. Live in town as close as possible. West Nashville, East NashvilleLockland Springs), Old Hickory, Hendersonville are all great. As a matter of fact Hendersonville would be my first choice.

Just think of a commute from Bellevue and then add 10-15 minutes.
It's not that bad. Just as far as some parts of Hendersonville.
Look between Fairview and Bellevue... maybe down near the new developments at Old Harding and 100. Might strike a good balance.

Fairview Schools
We are relocating from England, and I am trying to investigate the schools in Fairview, will visit FHS next week. GreatSchools.net has some info, but I don't know how much stock to put in their scores, as it seems to be more rural. It does seem like you get a lot nicer house for the money (and bigger lot) but will we have to drive for everything - stores, recreation, kids' activities? All the maps are indicating it's more like 45 minutes to Cool Springs - does anyone know if that is accurate?

That time is fairly accurate. Depending on time of day/traffic it could be as little as 35 minutes or as much as 75 minutes.

Fairview is not all its residents say it is..............
I've visited Fairview several times and looked into it as we were thinking of moving into the area. Fairview schools are the best in the area!???!# They don't even come close in ranking when you compare the curriculum and scores to the rest of the country! I have a 9 year old cousin with a speech problem who attends Fairview Elementary. He had to wait 3 years of "waiting in line" to get help. You would think the district would have other options or other methods of helping this normal boy with a speech impediment. There is no way he would be able to move in our area as he would be way behind and would probably end up failing 3rd grade. Bottom line is the curriculum is further behind when you compare it to other states and it doesn't offer much for special education. I also don't like the small rural feel of Fairview. It doesn't have much scenery either. We were looking for homes in the small town, only to find real estate blended in with mobile homes and trailers. We realized this wasn't for us. If you want to find a better area where you don't want the "trashy look" in some areas.. go to Brentwood or Franklin. Let's just say that Fairview is the armpit of Williamson County.

I wouldn't call it the armpit....
Dickson is the armpit. Fairview is "up and coming". The town is going to have some growing pains, especially old school residents who don't like all these "new folks" but the town government is planning for the boom. The more subdivisions that pop up, the less you will see the trailers. I think it's a beautiful city. And that's why we're moving there!!!
If they would just finish 840.....
