I've never really felt that unsafe in alot of areas, Obviously there are just some areas you don't go into at night but that's not the whole county. I don't think the O.P. should take the advice of someone that bashes areas based on their minority or illegal populations.
My wife and I took a drive through Madison and Inglewood just this past weekend and have to admit that the areas West of Gallatin Pike and East of Dickerson Rd. are really decent areas...

You want cheap rent? Murfreesboro, on the Franklin side of 96. Nice area and safe.

So are areas in North Nashville that are North of Briley Pkwy considered safe?

Hello all. I am moving to Nashville in a month and got a place on Plus Park Blvd 37217. Does anyone have any input on this area?

North Nashville is actually south of Briley Parkway, and "north of Briley Parkway" covers a lot of territory. Could you be a little more specific?
I live a little north of Briley in Madison, in a good neighborhood near Cedar Hill Park. Other areas north of Briley -- closer to Gallatin Pike -- get a little rougher.

Plus Park is rough. Very rough. I worked for a company on Plus Park Blvd, til they moved out in 2002. Weekly lock-downs were standard procedure.
I would not recommend it.

Ouch. Talk about a newcomer mistake. That's an AWFUL part of town. Just simply terrible. Hope you don't have too much money tied up in your new place (I'm guessing Shadowbluff) because first thing tomorrow you need to be looking for something else. My recommendation is any apartment complex off I-40 Exit 219.

How about Marlin Meadows subdivision in Madison - especially Berwick Trail? My husband and I are looking in the Nashville area. This is an older subdivision but most of it looks very good - no iron bars on the windows, etc.

I'd get out of it, It's not the worst part of town but it's pretty bad at times.

That's the part of town where you're almost better off taking a ticket for running a stop light than chance getting jacked at a red light. That logic might even hold up in court. We've actually been approached by Mexicans at stop lights on that stretch of Murfreesboro Rd. I just keep the windows up, doors locked and .45 aimed through the door.
