any termite experts out there? i've got a house and thought i should have a termite contract, so i've been researching termite contracts on the web and things don't sound good--recommendations include a repair guarantee, but the only company i've found with a repair guarantee so far is terminex. there are complaints on the web about terminex not honoring their repair guarantee once a house has termite damage. i'm wondering: anyone had any experience with termite damage to your house while under a repair contract? how'd it go, re: the company honoring the repair guarantee? which termite companies do you use and trust?

Most companies, who garantee you from termite damage, will only reimburse you for the amount of the contract and your stuck with the damage!

I had a contract, that I didnt keep up...(90 bucks a year), and wouldnt ya just know it, I got termites that next year after they termited it..sheesh! I never got another termite business to come in...I simply got some diazanon and put that around my house and kille the silly termites before they came in again...(I kept killing the flying ones in the basement...really a royal pain!).

May the LORD Bless each of you.

I wish you well...

Jesse

The damage covered will be 'new' damage only and for it to be considered 'new' it has to have live termites. Terminix is fine, just check the contract and make sure to keep the home free from the disclaimers on the back. They usually include wood to ground contact, leaky pipes etc. Severe termite damage-how fast do termites eat wood? | Pest Cemetery

Check out Cook's...reputable company out of Alabama. While researching for the same reasons you are, I found they protect sites like Constitution Hall, the White House and other federal historic sites. I also found Cook's guarantee to be stronger than what Terminix would give me.
(I have no connection with Cook's other than giving them a ridiculous amount of money up front..but they were still cheaper than the others.)

Terminix at one time did the White House and the Pentagon etc. etc. Big accounts are a good feather in the cap but they come and go. Your best bet is a neighbor or someone in your similar situation. Unless you live in the White House that is. lol
