Default Moving from Louisiana to Gallatin area

My wife and I will be moving to Tennessee this June. We evacuated there during the last hurricane. We fell in love with the area, My dad and step mother live in Hartsville,TN. We have 2 children, a 12 and a 5 year old.

My wife is a registered nurse and I am software/website developer and PC repair. I will be relocating my IT company there. We are torn between Gallatin and the Hendersonville area. We will most likely move into an apartment for a while until we get a good lay of the land before purchasing a home.

If anyone can offer any suggestions on what area would be a good fit for us , it would be appriciated.

Paul

Well, I'm not sure we can tell you which would be a better fit just from the information you gave.

Since you're going to be renting for now, I would probably suggest Hendersonville because it's a little closer to Nashville. For a while you will probably want to explore some of the things to do in and around Nashville, and living in Hendersonville would make it a little more convenient.

Be sure to take the kids to the Adventure Science Center, the Nashville Zoo, the kids art place at the Frist Center, Centennial Park, Bicentennial Mall, Cheekwood, a Sounds baseball game, and a few other family friendly attractions.

By the way, I work with a couple of guys who lmoved here after Katrina. At one time they were talking about starting a group of ex-Louisianians (just to get together and reminisce about home), but I don't think anything ever came of it.

With your wife being an RN, she will have no problem finding a job in the area. There is no shortage of ads looking for RN's.
