The same holds true in the opposite direction, I assure you. If not moreso. But that's life.

It is a known fact that racism and discrimination on all different levels exist everywhere you go. There is no escaping it. It's a sad, but true, fact. Please do not attempt to paint a picture showing Murfreesboro any worse than any place else. If anything, it may be a bit better.

I guess thats why folks are moving to DeKalb & Cannon county, alot of them claim the reason for their move was to 'escape' deversity.

I am not a racist, but I do live where I feel more at home. Way I see it, if I didn't think I'd fit in a town to well, I wouldn't move there. That should hold true to anyone looking for an area to move to. One really shouldn't expect to move to another town and expect the folks to live or act differently just because they don't like the way folks act, live, what they may or may not believe in, or what is or isn't allowed in schools there. Punishment is the biggest thing, if one don't want a kid spanked in school, then why on earth move to that area and complain about it? Move somewhere else where the kid will be rewarded or pampered for their bad deeds or spend a ton of money seeing doctors beggin' ' please help me, my kid don't behave '. Whole lot cheaper and faster if you bust that hind end rather than spending on doctors, or wasting tax payers money sending them to reform school. Ooops, sorry, I forgot we have tons of tax dollars to throw away, just look at all of it thats been handed out lately.

We have several EEOC discrimination matters in our office from Rutherford County. It's not all sunshine and roses there. I believe the county government and local municipalities are struggling with adjusting to the changing demographics of Murfreesboro and the rest of the county more than people realize. Of course, there is discrimination of every type in every nook and cranny of our great nation.

I'll take your word for it, as I've never personally experienced a racist black person.

I'm not attempting to make Murfreesboro appear more racist than other places. But I hear racist remarks literally every single day at work, and that's simply a fact. Someone who's considering moving here should hear both sides of the story, not just the good side. And if you'll notice, I pointed out that, depending on one's occupation, one may never hear a racist remark of any kind. But when you get into the "lower brow" lines of work, you may hear things you would have thought people would be past by now.

And I don't know if Murfreesboro is better or worse than other places in this regard, but I do know that out of the fifteen employees at my workplace, there are only four (including myself) whom I've never heard make a racist remark of some sort, and most do it daily. One in particular can't go an hour without it.

Let me help you out a little with reality. Congressman Cohen from Memphis tried to join the Congressional Black Caucus and surprise, surprise! He has the wrong color skin and was denied! I will help you personally experience the story here:
Jewish Rep. Cohen Battles Antisemitism and Racism In Re-Election - The Sleuth

I quote the Rev. Poindexter from the above story: "He's not black and he can't represent me, that's just the bottom line."

Where was the outcry from liberals on this scandal or did I just miss it? Now, I'm in Houston and am represented by Shiela Jackson Lee whom I can't stand. If I were to tell you she can't represent me because she's black, I'm sure you would vilify me, as all good liberals would. But the truth, as much as it hurts, is that a great many of her views are driven by race, e.g. as on the absurd reparations for slavery proposition, and other divisive issues.

When Paul Simon played a concert featuring his African-themed music at Howard Univ. about 15 years back he was not only booed but was threatened, and had to be escorted out of the building. Know why? He was playing that music in the wrong color skin. Never mind that Africans have adopted the even-tempered scale of Western music and I never heard a complaint about them not being the right race to adopt Western music.

A population without racism? Doesn't exist, never has and never will. Simply put, people are most comfortable with and favor those of their own race.

The 'N' word is evil and possesses supernatural powers that allow it to enter the deepest recesses of the human soul where it spends the afternoon doing really really mean things. An epithet unriveled in its cursedness and ability to wound. May we never again hear the vile word ..............
'N'eo-con.

I thought you were talking about that other N word. I was about to ask you if you've ever seen Blazing Saddles, which is history's best argument for keeping it in the language.

I didn't say there are no racist non-whites, I said I've never personally experienced one. I also don't recall saying I am a liberal, but you assumed that as well.

Nope. Didn't say so either.

I did stereotype typical attitudes liberals have based on the obsession they seem to exhibit on race. The fact that you say "But I hear racist remarks literally every single day at work" makes me suspect that you share this obsession to an extent, since I go to work every day in the South and never hear racist remarks. In other words, I have trouble believing your statement, so I suspect your motive in saying such, just as I suspect a lot of people's motives on race, mainly leftists.
