Holly Tree Gap is a gorgeous part of Brentwood. Just make sure you are zoned for the schools you want to be... the city limits change on the road once or twice. I am not sure if you have to be in Brentwood to go to Brentwood Middle or High, but it is something to think about.

Yes, I also like the rolling hills in this area. Regarding the city limits, how can I find a map showing the borders of the city and school districts ?
BTW, is Brentwood High School considered better than Ravenwood High school ?

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. The people associated with Brentwood High would probably consider BHS better than Ravenwood and the people at Ravenwood would probably consider Ravenwood better than BHS. Based on test scores, both are good schools. Based on friends and others that I know that have had children at either one or both, they are both considered very good with many resources.

As far as the public high schools in those areas the answer is yes, based on test scores, graduation rates, and percent graduates going to college. Many people who live in those areas send their kids to private school.

Yes. Though I'm not originally from this area and didn't go to high school here, I perceive Brentwood High to be about as good as it gets when it comes to public schools in Middle Tennessee.

However, be prepared to spend the GDP of a small country at Abercrombie & Fitch if you want your kid to have a chance to succeed socially and actually hook up on the weekends.

i would not consider too much of wn as upscale or particularly nice, e.g. charlotte avenue area over to westend, so on and so forth. this area has a good deal of crime history---rape, robbery, murder. and, yes, nashville schools are, by and large, pathetic. don't look for this to change much, it is a social ill not to be corrected with the copious infusion of tax dollars. if education matters to you and yours, place them in private schools. nashville, along w/ memphis, boasts several very prestigious institutions.

try the area in and around st. george's episcopal church. i have family who live just south of the church. they always speak well of the area. too, it is very pretty in the spring, summer, and fall. the hills, natural stone all along the way to the battlegrounds on the right. explore the areas at the edge of davidison county into williamson---in the area where the gambel estate rests. beautiful rolling hills, rushing creeks, rural feel. enjoy.

Of course private schools are always an option, but still an important criteria for relocation is the quality of public schools, and it was pointed out in this thread that Brentwood public schools are quite good, especially Brentwood High which was highly ranked in a national survey by Newsweek magazine.

Pimpy, Your decribing the Schools where my kids went to in NJ, exacty to the tee, except those were much more snobby.
Most of the parents I know do prefer Ravenwood, over Brentwood.
MY daughter went to Overton in Nashville, 1 year, is now at MTSU, and did just fine. She was in NJ , the other 3 years.
If you are in the advanced program in Metro schools, they are not what most precieve. Other friends from Overton, make the Deans List every semester at MTSU,but they to were in the better classes. She also received the TN lottery schlorship, and still has it, and is entering her Junior year.
