Moving to Nashville (Green Hill: rentals, condo, school district)

Hi,

I'm expecting to move to the area in the next 6 weeks. I am a single parent to a 10 year old and a teen who will be in college next fall. We will determine the latter's college location once we are settled.

I'd like some feedback on a 2 bedroom in a good school district. I will work at Vanderbilt Medical so I'd like some nice family oriented suggestions in this area. I'll be renting and right now, I can afford ~$800/month for a 2 bedroom.

MINUTES TO VANDY-WEST END: 2 bedroom duplex

Here are some options in really good areas depending on how far you want to commute. If you want to stay on the bus route since Vandy gives free bus fair, you might want to stay more in the area around Vandy out to Green Hills or Bellevue. Sometimes it is easier just to drive around in the Vandy HIllsboro Village area up through Green Hills and people will have For Rent signs out in the yards.

Also work at Vandy and have a 2 bdrm apt for 740/mo near Bellevue ~ 15-20 south of VUMC ;takes 20-25 min to get to work. Try in Bellevue /on Harding Rd also called 70s as this going 1-2 mile towards downtown leads past exclusive areas off West Meade/ Bell Meade. I ive near 70 off Old Hickory Blvd which is ~ 2miles to 70s. This OHB circumvents Nashville. Good Luck. Try your online rental site,there are 2 good ones rent.com and mynewplace.com that I know of.
