Less strip malls, more greenery, within 45 min drive of Nash?
Hey all,
I'm strongly considering moving to the Nashville area, here are a few things I am looking for...
Within 45 minute drive of downtown.
Not shopping plaza, after shopping plaza, after shopping plaza...
Trees, water, land, less concrete if you know what I mean.
Safe neighborhood.
More rural setting.
Less subdivsions (if possible)
Anywhere fit these qualifications?
Thanks a ton.

A couple of ideas . . .
Look northwest of downtown Nashville along I-24 from Joelton/Union Hill out to Pleasant View.
Look at the area around Pegram, possibly along Sams Creek Road.
I'm not a big fan of it, but you might also look at Fairview.
If you can afford it, you could also look around the Leipers Fork area.

If you want more rural look Northwest of the city-this is the least developed area of Davidson County. Or out west around Dickson-still close access to I40, but you can get some property out there. Around the Burns, TN area.
edit: I see you mention water-I don't see much out west of town. If you're talking a lake for skiing, etc then maybe you can check the Northeast section of town around Old Hickory Lake but it will cost more money up there.

Christiana, but that may be oushing the 45 minutes a bit. The outskirts of Murfreesboro and practically all of Christiana is nice country.

Cottontown in Sumner County, close enough to convenience in Gallatin & Hendersonville but far enough away...

Kingston Springs might be an option. It's located off 40 West before you get to Dickson.
