What will the 2 new convention/trade centers do to the real estate in Nashville?
Specifically home prices, and where do you think the biggest impact will be?Where will the greatest appreciation be, if at all?
How will they impact the tax base? Will taxes automatically go up even if they're built with private funds? Taxes in davidson are a horror already.
Will the quality of life go down? Sure it will bring more jobs ,and that means more traffic, congestion, and crime, no?
Medical trade center will have to house a lot of doctors, etc. That'a a lot of pricey housing about to explode I would think. Not sure if I should jump in with both feet and buy right in Nashville instead of another town to take advantage of the opportunity and not worry about the taxes....thanks!

I think you should buy a house wherever you can find a decent paying job. I wouldn't count on something like the addition of convention center to decide where to move (unless your possibly in the healthcare industry). Also, not sure how adding 3,000 + new jobs in the downtown area would increase crime. If anything, many of those people will want to live near where they work, so that's adding that much more disposable income to the core. Also, your adding that many eyes and ears out there to report crime when they see it (and not ignore it or perpetuate the status quo). As far as two huge convention centers adding to congestion and traffic, yes, that could be a negative factor. And not just in the core but adding more traffic coming in from Williamson, Sumner and Wilson Counties in particular. BTW, how long you been trying to decide on whether to move to Nashville? Seems like you started posting these questions years ago (just a little ribbing there...)

How would taxes increase? Isn't the convention center to be built without a tax hike? Just asking... cause I can't figure out how building a convention/trade center(s) would automatically make taxes go up... ?

Some people should try living somewhere else like California, Texas, New York, Florida, or New Jersey, THEN talk about the taxes in Davidson County.
