Default Cottonwood high crime?

Hi,
I am planning on moving to the north Nashville area next month.
I was considering the Cottonwood area. I was doing a search on sperling's best places, and come to find out that Cottonwood's crime rate is above average compare to the USA. Can anyone tell me if that is true and why?
Any information would help.
Thank you

I'm from Cottontown...it's North of Nashville, 37048...is that what you're referring to? I've never heard of Cottonwood.

I'm not nitpicking, just making sure I understand your question.

I was going to comment on North Nashville, but Cottontown is not North Nashville. There is a HUGE difference between "North Nashville" and "North of Nashville". I don't recall Cottontown specifically although we have driven around up that way. My guess is that it is a typical TN small town. Very rural, country living.

Other than shoplifters and speeders, the police don't deal with much crime in the communities north of Nashville. I guess other stuff happens, but nothing that makes headlines.

It's really nice out there, rural, but near convenience. If that's your type of thing then go for it. I moved the week I turned 18...

I would say to come take a look. Cottontown is spread of a big area and there's homes in many prices. It's not far from White House or Hendersonville for shopping.
