Schools in/around White House?
I've read conflicting reports -- are the schools in or around White House good? Thanks!

I don't have children so I have no personal experience, but at greatschools-dot-net there are ratings for the WH area schools:
Total score = 8 out of 10
Harold B. Williams Elementary = 10 out of 10
White House Heritage School = 9 out of 10
Robert F. Woodall Elementary School = 8 out of 10
White House Middle School = 8 out of 10
White House High School = 7 out of 10
What you need to understand is that White House is split by two counties, Sumner and Robertson, so depending on where you live, that determines which school your children will attend.
White House is currently buiilding a new high school (calling it Heritage High School) on State Road 76 on the Robertson County side (a short drive west of I-65), so that means those attending high school are about to get split based on their county of residence.
I think the plan is to eventually have a complete set of schools for Sumner and Robertson for White House residents so that they don't have to mix up residents of two counties in the same schools.
Frankly, White House needs to make up its mind and be part of ONE COUNTY. This division of cities on two sides of two different counties is one of the freakiest things I have ever seen. Talk about poor planning!! It's not just White House, either. This seems to be a common issue elsewhere in the state.
That probably is the cause of the conflicting reports...there's a bias in favor of Sumner County schools but in White House, there's not much of a difference whether one attends a school on the Sumner side or the Robertson side. More of a personal preference for schools, I suppose, but if you are new to the area, it's not going to make much of a difference. Your children are going to be "new" to the area, to the other students and to the school buildings no matter which county you choose. I would think that going to the "new" high school on the Robertson side will be the trendy thing soon. The school is not complete yet, but most kids would probably be happiest in a new modern school. It's a clean slate for everyone attending it.

Thank you for this information. I had not heard of that site. We'd thought of Hendersonville for schools, since the opinions seem pretty consistent about quality, but then someone also mentioned White House. Decisions, decisions

Great schools
Years ago as our children were nearing school age we needed to move out of Metro Nashville. The State of Tennessee issues a very detailed comprehensive report card on every school in every district in the State looking at grades, classes, scores, etc. and ranks them. At the time and for the most part Williamson Co. was number one overall in Middle Tennessee but has a very high cost of living but I would have made it work if it had to be. I knew Sumner Co. (half of White House) had a good reputation too. In fact at the time and still true, Sumner Co. actually exceeded Williamson Co. in several areas but overall Williamson was still holding onto number one. Sumner Co. as a county has some older rural schools to contend with that Williamson Co. does not contend with.
White House is right on top as is Hendersonville. When we moved Robertson Co. and Sumner Co. shared schools in the city limits of White House. Then due to school boards not getting along with schedules and the like the two counties seperated and became responsible for their own schools in the city.
Sumner Co. financially is better off than Robertson Co. which obviously shows in building projects for the most part. Robertson Co. has some good schools but as a county got in some trouble last year about scores overall with the State.
Robertson Co. is playing catch up as far as building in White House to the present.
My daughter went to the Robertson Co. elementary before the split and it was a great school. However, Sumner Co. side now has a new elementary school, a new middle school, and a huge annex just for freshman with the high school having 10th, 11th, and 12th grades.
I am glad we moved for the schools and the community.
