Winchester (Chattanooga, Tullahoma, Manchester: jobs, hospital, service)

Hello, I am considering moving with much of my family to Winchcester in a couple of months. I was wondering in anyone knows much about the area. I am a little concerned about finding a job there. I've looked online and there just aren't that many jobs around there except working at the local stores.

You're right, there's not much in Winchester. Nissan does have a large factory there (well, in Decherd). There's a large Air Force research center not too far away between Tullahoma and Manchester. What kind of job are you looking for?

You might want to post this in the main Tennessee forum since Winchester isn't really in the Nashville area. It's closer to Chattanooga.

But for what it's worth, Winchester is in a nice area. It's a beautiful part of the state.

Winchester is very close to my city, Sewanee. I usually go to Winchester to do my shopping. I don't know about jobs there but perhaps our small Tennessee towns don't do much online advertising for employment. Maybe thats why you just don't see it online. I see a few help wanted ads in the local papers. Thats another thing, our counties are so spread out and each one is kinda small that they advertise in winchester paper and usually in the surrounding areas as well. If you want to look at the local paper there its called: The Herald Chronicle and I do think it is online.

Thank you for your responses they were helpful. I guess it makes sense that perhaps they don't do much posting online there.. hopefully anyway. I work in the front office at a doctors office and would like to stay in the medical field. However, I guess at least temporally I'd work in any industry as a secretary/front office person.

My husband is an electrical apprentice. He's been in the field for over six years and eventually he will get certified to be a journeyman but times have been hectic.

I'd just hate to work at McDonalds or some local shop, not that there is anything wrong with it but I am not a very good service person. I don't put up with peoples bs and complaining very well.

I will look online at the local paper and go from there. Again, thank you both for your help.

I also think Winchester hospital is online, they are always advertising for help.
Yes They do have online access to employment. southerntennessee
