Now I'm scared to move to Nashville...oh boy
Ok so I am residing in Atlanta GA currently...however I have grown rather tired of it. Been here for 2yrs and its 2yrs too long. Anyway I am considering relocating to Nashville but I have read a couple things that has scared the buh-jesus out of me. 1. Tornados & 2. Brown Recluse Spiders. Whao!!!! I am beyond scared of spiders but the brown recluse spider takes the cake. I have seen what a single bite from these little suckers can do to someone. I rather be biten by a snake for crying out loud. Has anyone had any problems with them? Lets not forgot about the tornados that I have read about. Whoa!!! I mean how often does one touch down in Nashville? Am I over reacting here?

I wouldn't let the twisters stand in the way. Heck, your odds of getting struck by lightning down there are about the same as getting a direct hit by a twister here.
Don't let those little eight legged creatures scare you so bad. I camped out in the barn as a kid and never got bit laying on nothing more than hay bales and dust.Plenty of little eight legged creatures in an old dusty barn loft, but the only thing that ever hit me by surprise once was the wasps when I woke up, stood upright, stretched out right good, and leaned my head back to pop my neck while yawnin'. They built a nest behind a board overhead and I didn't see it until my mornin' breath pee'd them off face to face lol. I still hang hammocks up in the woods on the farm and sleep whenever me and the kids take a notion to camp out ( it beats the heck outta setting up a tent IMO ). I'm 40 and my kids are teens and so far we've never been bitten by an eight legged creature. It can and has happen to folks though, but really, the odds of it happening are not as great as some fear. I'd watch out for bee's, and if your in the woods or around a creek, keep an eye out for snakes.

The regions into which the spiders exist include the Atlanta area, so if you haven't worried about it there, you shouldn't worry about it here. Yes, you're overreacting, I believe.
I saw a dandy picture of a tornado in downtown Atlanta. Don't let nature stop you from doing things; people have been sharing the planet with those things here first for a long time. So far, they've let us be here rather trouble free. Come on up; you'll enjoy it.

Your chances of getting bit by a snake are probably better, and that's pretty slim, if that makes you feel better. Brown Recluse spider and tornado attacks are so rare that it's really nothing to worry about. Unless you're lucky enough to not have to work or already have one lined up, I'd be more worried about finding a job.

Tornados like the one we saw back in April here in Murfreesboro are extremely rare even here. We'll usually have several tornado threats a year, but rarely do they turn into much. And the kind of recluse bites you've seen pictures of are incredibly rare. In all my life I've never known anyone to experience anything like that, and I've lived here all my life. I wouldn't let those two things stop you from moving if you really want to.

Definitely. I'd be far more afraid of not being able to find a job!

Once you move to Nashville, you will then come to fear:
- Georgia State Income tax (Tennessee has no State income tax)
- Georgia Personal Property Tax (On your car EVERY YEAR)
- Atlanta Property taxes (outrageous)
- Atlanta Local Gov't mismanagement of property taxes, and subsequent increases.
- Atlanta's crime rate
- that gunky red clay that gets on your shoes in GA and is impossible to wash out of the carpet.

First of all, I live in Kansas City, at my old house, my basement was infested with brown recluses, if we saw them, we would just step on em. Of course KC is also in tornado alley, in all my years, a tornado has never directly hit in my neighborhood. And remember, if you see a recluse in your house, just step on it (as long as you have shoes on) then you got nothing to worry about, basically. Oh yeah, you were kinda overreacting.
