I've heard from some Vandy students that some of the areas around the school aren't safe, specifically around Belmont. Is there any truth to this? I know there is always crime in a city, but are there some neighborhoods I would want to avoid walking through late at night?

Hmmm, I don't think of that area as being particularly high crime.

I saw your other post about Whitworth. Those two areas are close, but separate areas.

Ok cool, the kid told me one of his friends was held up at gun point for his car in the area between Vandy and Belmont, but the kid also said Hillsboro Village was really nice. The two areas looked really close on a map so I wondered how true it really was.

Well, there's a lot of activity in that area, so it wouldn't surprise me that someone was held up at some point, but that's going to happen occasionally anywhere in the county. I'm sure people get held up in Palms Spring and Beverly Hills and Auburn Hills.

The two areas are close, but they are also "separated" by I-440. Both areas are fairly nice. You really can't hardly beat the convenient of living in that area.

Awesome, glad I picked that place then, all I had to go off of were pictures and maps so seems like it worked out well.

Thanks again

You mentioned the Vandy stadium . . if you're interested, Nashville has a nice little AAA baseball team. The stadium they play at isn't too awfully far from that area (a 15 minute drive or so).

Ok good, I figured that would be the case. Are there any decent public golf courses in that area? Or maybe one you would recommend over others?

Default Golf Courses

Nashville Metro has at least 6 around the city, 3 of which I would say are as good as any I have seen. < $59 per round in the summer. Less in the winter. That includes a cart
