Local Banks
Can anyone suggest a good bank, we are in Franklin. We currently have an account at Bank of America and we hate it so far! we've been there for the last 3 months and they have been nothing but problems for us! We are choosing between Fifth Third, First Tennessee or US Bank... any pros/cons on any of those banks??
Thanks!

First Tennessee has a good reputation. From what I hear, they're a little more personal, like many banks used to be. You might also consider the Bank of Franklin (if it still exits).
I actually use BoA as well, mainly because of the locations.

When our children went to college in other Tennessee cities, we opened joint accounts at First Tennessee because they had locations convenient to both campuses as well as home in Franklin and work in Cool Springs. I, too, have banked at Bank of America. I never had a problem, but the office I used was very large. I found First Tennessee to be much more personal.
Pros: The people in the Franklin office have been great and have provided friendly, personal service. They have branches convenient to all of Franklin, Cool Springs and Brentwood.
Cons: They may have fewer locations than larger banks, I haven't counted, but if they have them where you need them it doesn't matter. Human error caused their computer to take money out of an account, twice, creating the need for their friendly, personal service. The experience has not been totally hassle free, but positive overall.

I currently use US BANK. I've been really happy with them. They have gone above and beyond to make me a happy customer. I had Regions previously (I opened my acct as Union Planters...but they were bought by Regions). I had grown dissatisfied with Regions. I had a mortgage with First Tennessee and never had any problems. They are smaller....which has good points and bad points. My only experience with 5th Third was a really bad one and I know I'll never have an acct there if I can help it. I won't go through the long drawn out drama...but someone who was purchasing a car from me used them as their bank and it was such a long drawn out mess...it was almost funny.....almost.
