Antioch hotel
We are planning a vacation to Nashville next spring. We booked a room at The Country Inn and Suites in Antioch. I have been reading horrible things about this town, but the reviews for the hotel are great online. Does anyone have any opinions on the area the hotel is in? We are travelling with two small children and wouldn't want to be in a bad neighborhood...Thanks.

Which one? There are at least two Country Inns & Suites in the Antioch area. The one west of I-24 would probably be better, and it's not in a bad area as far as I know.
By the way, Antioch isn't really a town; it's just a section of Metro Nashville south of downtown.

The address is Bell Road. It looks like it's right by I-24. It's by the Hickory Hollow Mall.

For a Nashville vacation I wouldn't stay there.

Tunky,
Because of the area or because it's a drive from the attractions?

You do not want to stay in Antioch as anything near the Hickory Hollow Mall is not safe. I no longer shop there as I value my life.
I'm suggesting Brentwood which is 15-20 min from Downtown. It's a great area, shops and Restaurants. My choices are in a Cooperate park.
Here are My Choices
Brentwood TN Hotel: Residence Inn by Marriott Nashville Brentwood … A Nashville Tennessee Hotel
Breakfast and Light dinner included
Extended Stay Hotel - Brentwood, Tennessee, TN - Homewood Suites Hotels
This is where I have stayed when house Hunting here, Full Buffet Breakfast, and M-thurs-Light Buffet dinner, 2 room suites with a Kitchen
Hilton Suites Hotel Brentwood Tennessee - Brentwood, TN Hotels
Brentwood TN Hotel: Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Brentwood … A Nashville Tennessee Hotel
Here is a Hotel in Franklin(Cool Springs) Adjacent to Cool Springs Mall, Much better Area!
Franklin Hotels: Country Inn & Suites: Cool Springs Hotel in Franklin
There are numerous hotels in the Cool Springs Area, some Brand New off of Crothers near the interstate. These will be about 10 min furthur from Downtown, than the ones in Brentwood.

Please do not listen to anybody's opinions of Antioch. They just like bashing it because they think it is fun. Go to Antioch, stay at the hotel, see that the area is suburbialand with all of its new apartments and brick houses. Aside from that, all the new development in Antioch can also scare all these people. idk why, but I think everybody is afraid of the hispanic population. You see, hispanics are just now moving into Nashville so many people are not comfortable. Dont listen to them. The sad thing is, only a few people on this board actually know the truth because many people do not go to these areas because they value their life. In fact, you may hear something like Antioch is so bad that they stopped building apartments only cemeteries to match the murder rate.

DO NOT STAY THERE!! There may be pockets of Antioch that are fine, but right near I-24 is NOT one of them.
How do I know? I lived right near there. And to the poster above me, it has NOTHING to do with just Hispanics. I wouldn't trust anyone of any national origin or skin color in that area.

Yeah because well kept lawns and clean suburban shopping centers are so terrifying.
