Girls Weekend in Nashville!! Suggestions PLS
I am flying down to Nashville, TN staying in a hotel with my best friend who is meeting me there from Alabama. We are having a girls weekend with just us two gals. Leaving our hubbys and children behind.
She has been to Nashville once before (she just moved to AL last year) and I have never been.
Any ideas for things for us to do or see for fun? We are in our mid twenties and We will be there for two full days.
Also any suggestions on Hotels in a safe area within walking distance to some attractions. We will have a car if needed though!
Any areas we should avoid since neither of us are familiar with the city?
Thanks in advance!!

I would check out the prices of hotels that are in or near downtown. There's a cool Marriott Courtyard hotel at the corner of 4th and Church. There's also a new Hampton Inn and a Hilton near the Country Music Hall of Fame. Since you've never been here before, there's going to be lots more things for you to walk to if you are downtown. A few suggestions downtown would be: Honky tonks on lower Broad. Country Music Hall of Fame. If you're not into country, the Schermerhorn (have no idea how to spell that) Symphony Hall. There's a fun bar called The Big Bang where they have dueling pianos on Broadway. You can walk to the Frist Art Museum. I have no idea what's going on this weekend as far as shows...but that might be an option, depending on what you like.
If you have a car and want to venture out to other areas....you could drive down West End and check out the Vanderbilt Campus and Centennial Park (with the replica of the Parthenon). If you want to shop, not far from there is the Mall at Green Hills. Sometimes when I go to cities I've never been to before, I just like to wander around and take it all in. These are just a few suggestions, but I'm sure you'll have fun whatever you end up doing. Nashville is a fun town.

IMO, the point of coming to Nashville is the music. I would look at nashvillescene.com to see what is happening. If nothing specific appeals, the bluebird cafe and station inn are always reliable. Broadway on a weekend evening as well.
For the daytime, I like the nature in and around town (Percy Warner, Radnor Lake, etc). I am not into shopping, but walking about Franklin is great. the country between there and Lieper's Fork and the Natchez Trace is stunning, and worth just getting lost (which can easily happen).
Enjoy, and glad to hear Nashville will be filled with even two more young women looking to have fun this weekend.

That's a good location. Since that hotel is pretty new, it should be nice. Downtown Nashville is actually pretty safe.
Have Fun !
