I am getting a complex here

Does anyone know of anywhere other than careerbuilder or the like to get my resume out into the Nashville workforce? I'd REALLY love to live there.

You might try to Google Resume Distribution Services in Nashville. I don't know of any personally.

Jobs Nashville Employment I think it is operated by the Nashville Chamber of Commerce. There are a lot of low paying jobs on the site, but I do see some good ones. It has a list of employers that participate so you can go to their web sites and apply directly. It also has a feature that lets you look for recently posted jobs, by day, so you can be one of the first to apply when you see something that fits.

The number of employers participating is limited but there are some good ones like Ingram and Perot Systems.

Vanderbilt is the largest employer in the area. Vanderbilt University Human Resources

Honestly, the local boards are not very good. Search engines cannot perform even a simple search without getting an error message or they provide results other than requested. Almost always the jobs that are listed are found on CareerBuilder and other more established sites. Nashville is sorely lacking in this regard. The best way to apply is drectly at an employer's own careers page after spotting a posting on one of the job search sites.

The best way to find a job is to research your field and find companies that would have those jobs and go directly to those companies - even if they don't have an opening now. Most resume postings result in a lot of spam for 100% commission outside sales jobs! Most job postings get filled before they're published.

What kind of job are you looking for? The Vanderbilt site is good and offers a wide variety of jobs - from Janitorial all the way up. If you want the stability of a government job right now usajobs.com (or maybe gov, but I'm pretty sure com) has a lot of jobs in the area. The city of Nashville also posts jobs at nashville.gov.

Another option that people who've relocated have utilitized is to procure a temporary job through a staffing agency. Many of those jobs turn permanent, but even if not keeps you employed while you learn the area and network for a job that you really want.
