My coworker has a Sam's membership so I was going to buy food there, but I think they also sell liquor-is that my best bet-or is Frugal McDougal's the cheapest in the city? Or somewhere else? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure Sam's doesn't sell liquor, at least not the ones I've seen. In TN liquor and wine must be sold in "liquor stores" and must be standalone type stores. Costco sells liquor, but there's a seperate entrance to the liquor store and seperate register. Basically, it's segregated from the rest of the store.

Frugal's has the reputation of being the cheapest around, but I'm not so sure. I wouldn't really go out of my way to go there...your local liquor store is probably only slightly more expensive and would be closer. If you're buying in bulk, well, Frugal's might be worth the trip.

If you're looking for wine, Woodland Street Wine Merchant is really hard to beat...very affordable and great folks that work there. I don't think they bave too many bottles over $25. Midtown Wine and Spirits has a great selection of wine (and some liquor too...but mostly wine).

Weiss Liquor Store on Main Street is the cheapest one I've seen in Nashville (pretty sure it's cheaper than Frugal McDougal's for liquor and probably everything else) and I second the Woodland Wine Merchant recommendation.

It's Frugal McDougal's that claims that Frugal McDougla's is the cheapest. I'd like to hear that from someone who has compared their prices to other stores.

Cool Springs Wine and Liquor is 40% cheaper than a smaller store down the street on one particular wine I buy, so it pays to compare. If you're out that way, they will match any price in town, including Frugal McDougal's.

Frugal's is fairly inexpensive...however, whenever I've bought large quanties at my local liquor store the owner has given me a discount. It varies from 5-10% usually.
