Default where to live for a job in Smyrna

We currently live in Goodlettsville. We've only lived in the Nashville area for about 15 months. My husband has been working downtown.

Now, he has accepted a postion in Smyrna and has to be within 20 minutes of Smyrna for call.

The problem is we aren't familiar with that side of Nashville. Our church is on McGavock Pike, and we want to still be close enough to attend there.

I'm nervous about anything around Antioch... and have heard that the same is spreading towards Lavergne...

I guess my question is where around Smyrna, is a safe spot? Is Lavergne still a safe option? How are the schools in Rutherford County/Smyrna area??

Thanks for ANY input!!

Rutherford Co. schools are excellent. Living in Smyrna is an option, or there is Murfreesboro. I know it is farther south than what you were wanting, but the schools are good and the area is safe. I personally wouldn't move to Antioch. But that is just my opinion.

Smyrna would be an excellent option! Great schools, nice community. If you wanted to drive a little farther, then Murfreesboro would be within 20 minutes of Smyrna.

Smyrna is nice and so is Murfreesboro. I don't like Lavergne or anything towards Antioch from there. Smyrna has a lot of nice settled areas as well as some new homes and yes, the schools are great. There are a quite a few little areas w/ homes between Smyrna and Murf that may be good for you.

How about Smyrna itself? There are affordable homes and the area has a pretty low crime rate. Or if you can afford more, then Nolensville is close but in Williamson county. He could just take Rocky Fork to Rock Springs and be in Smyrna within 15 mins. I'd stay away from Antioch and Lavergne. That's just me but those areas are going downhill.
