In Nashville, are there any large communities centered in one place? Like a 'Little Kurdistan' area with businesses and such? If so, where?

I read recently that Nashville is home to large groups of Mexicans, Kurds, Vietnamese, Laotians, Cambodians, Arabs, and Bantus...

Yes nolensville road area would be home to both little Kurdistan and a large Hispanic population. There's also a sizeable North African community. Nashville is home to the largest population of Kurds in North America

As far as I know, though, there aren't any ethnic enclaves in the truer sense in the area, right? Most of these ethnic groups are suburban, instead of urban.

Yeah it's not a true urban neighborhood but it's a concentrated area of Arabic and Hispanic businesses.

You won't find a "Chinatown" or "Little Italy" section in Nashville like they have in the Northeast or some West Coast cities, if that's what you're referring to. However, as some posters have stated there are large populations of certain ethnic groups in Nashville.

I have had no experience whatsoever with anyone of Kurdish descent.

How are the people, the restaurants, etc.?

Most of the ethnic groups have community centers but no "neighborhood." All the centers I know of are concentrated on the south to southeast side of Nashville-from the 100 Oak area in the west to the Murfreesboro Rd. area in the east. I've had fun times in an Eastern European grocery store near 100 Oak and Asian and Latin American grocers along Murfreesboro Rd. I've never stopped in at any of the places on Nolensville Rd. Seems like the only time I go down that road is if I'm heading to the zoo with a bunch of anxious kids!

As fas as Kurdish food goes-I love it-I had some at the Festival Of Nations at Centinnial Park a few months ago.

"Litle Kurdistan", would most likely be concentrated along the Nolensville Rd. area and adjacent residential areas. Although, Antioch is probably ground zero for fresh immigrants from literally all over the world. A lot of people seem to despise Antioch for this and its crime rate, others seem to love it. In Antioch alone one can find sizeable pockets of Cambodians, Laotians, Indians, Russians, Chinese and many other ethnic groups that I have no clue about (lots of Muslims from various places). But as mentioned, with this area also comes a rather shady underworld aspect that can be discussed somewhere else. Nashville area, in gebneral, has virtually every ethnic group on the planet accounted for somewhere. Met a guy from Uzbekistan the other night working at Pizza Hut.

Along Charlotte Avenue in West Nashville, you will find a concentration of both Asian and Mexican businesses. The K&S Asian supermarket is great
