Default Can anyone recommend a nice yoga studio?

Q2 - Yoga studio - I am looking for a yoga studio in Nashville that has ambiance and music to provide for a relaxing class after driving from CA. Can anyone guide me? I do not like Hot Yoga, nor am I into the mediation nor Yoga chants. Thank you for any recommendations.

I have a friend who likes the yoga classes at the YMCA (I think they have various ones). I'm sure there are others, but I'm not familiar with them. The Y also has Pilates classes.

Thx alleycat, but don't you have to be a member at the Y? If not, which Y location does your friend enjoy? I did see a place called THE YOGA ROOM which had pretty good reviews. I know I probably will be doing too much site seeing this first trip to take a class. First time in TN, I am sure I'll keep busy.....I hope you have some walking tours.

My friend goes to the downtown Y. There are yoga places all around; I just don't know enough about them to recommend one. There's one on Elliston Place called Hot Yoga. That sounds like fun! ;-)

There are bus tours, and trolley tours, and walking tours by the historical folks.

I work for the YMCA, so if you have any questions (membership, schedules) let me know!

If you're looking for just a yoga studio, there is one on Donelson Pike. I can find the name for you, but it looks pretty nice!

alleycat - No Hot Yoga for me, the temp is 105, however with that temp you can get deeper into your poses quicker than a normal temp setting. You should try yoga, I find that increasing my yoga and pilates reformer classes I sleep very well and my attempt at hitting a golf balls has gone from worst to just bad. Can't wait for the tours, especially the historical. If you are ever in San Francisco make sure you look up the free city walks tours they are great. emmyp does the Y have drop in for non-members? I plan on only visiting Nashville while my daughter is in school there over the next 4 years so any place I go will be on a drop-in basis (usually $15 per class). Also, if you can find out the name of the yoga studio that would be great. Thx so much.

I can't post it here because that meany moderator will get me! ;-)

alleycat I saw the PM but could not bring it up. Thx anyway. Why can't you post names of tours on this site? How about links? Next week, when we get there we will busy and probably won't get an opportunity to do too much site seeing....but I am collecting info.

I'm sorry. I know City-Data is a commercial website and I respect their right to do whatever they want to do; however, I didn't know they disallowable private messages, or choose what could or could not be posted in a private message.

They can have my membership back as far as I'm concerned.
