I would probably suggest looking over near the Priest Lake area. And, sorry to say, have to warn you off of the Antioch area itself (there's already threads here about Antoch). You can actually find some areas in Antioch that are safe and nice, but you kind of have to know the area.

There might even be something is the area that some of the locals call "Brentioch"--the area between Antioch and Brentwood.

Of course, you could just live in LaVergne and commute into Nashville when you needed to.

Thanks Alleycat,

Can you tell me anything about "Nippers Corner"? I am considering La Vergne or Smyrna, can you tell me anything about these areas.

I lived in both Nippers Corner and LaVergne and would steer away from both of them. LaVergne is a giant truck stop and Nippers's Corner is apartment complex after apartment complex on Edmondson. For the 3 locations you mentioned I would go with Smyrna.

Here are a few subdivisions..
Orleans Estates, Executive House or Jackson Place..
I just tried to get a client into a condo in Bellvue, in Belle Forest. You have to be quick over there...they go fast.(Why..I'll never understand...as they are old and need alot of ~love~....)
We ended up with a great condo in a place called Hickory Valley off Old Hickory and Nolensville ..very nice, safe..under 100K
Hope this helps ....

Another Realtor's opinion... WellKids is right - Brentwood Trace is appreciating quickly right now. On the right side of all that Old Hickory traffic + convenient. They go quickly though...

Default Smyrna is the place

I have lived in Smyrna for 15 years and know the area quite well. As mentioned above, I wouldnt recommend Lavergne unless it is in the south west corner near Sam Ridley Parkway. I also wouldnt go to nippers corner. It may be within that 20 minute range but I would doubt it with traffic.

Smyrna has low taxes, one of the best park systems in the US for a city in its size range and it isn't overcrowded.

If you are looking for condos to rent I am useless. I may be able to find some. I do know where their are some to purchase. Also, I know where there are some nice apartments. Depends on what you are looking for.

In any case, if you are moving near Nashville I would recommend Smyrna as the place to live.
