Finding A Place To Live?
I moved to Nashville (Bellevue) from another state back in November. I was able to land a job with a great company that is located on West End. Currently I live with family but I would like to find a place to purchase (preferrably a house).
I have started looking on my own and the housing market is quite a bit more expensive here than what I am use to. I am most concerned about the area being safe and the property being a good investment. I would also like to be within a 35 minute commute to work.
I would love to live in the Brentwood, Franklin, Cool Springs area but I think it is going to be way too expensive for me. Does anyone know of an up and coming area that might be attractive for a 29 year old, single, male? I probably can't afford to pay more than $115,000. Thanks.

If you looking to buy more for your money, perhaps 25min. North of Nashville instead of South.
If you need more info, write back.

Hi-- I am relocating to franklin coolsprings area and I am finding that it is a bit pricey, where do I live with my 2 kids where there is a school zone to be in also be safe enough to live there too. When your going to a state you do not know well, It is difficult to find the right place with good schools and be in a half way decent area to live.
Can anyone help a little

northwest nashville
My wife and I moved to nashville last year to start grad school at vandy. We bought a house near Pearl Cohn HS about a mile north of West End. For a hair less than 100k, we have a 2000sf newly renovated house and no worries about traffic--we are close to everything. There is a lot of construction in the vicinity(2 new houses being built on my block). The neighborhood isn't belle meade by any means--it's 1000-2000 sf houses and duplexes, but the neighbors are friendly and I feel safe walking the streets alone at any hours(though my wife is more reticent).

Ben,
Thanks for the reply. What are some good directions to get to your area? That would definately save alot of $$$ on gas commuting to work.
Blueeyes, what are some directions in Franklin on those condos? Thanks for all of the suggestions.

In case Ben doesn't come back soon to read your post, the area is near Meharry Medical College. You can kind of see the area by looking towards downtown on I-40 near the I-40/I-440 split. It's between Charlotte and Jefferson. That's the general area anyway.

In your price range, a condo would be a great option. You can find a condo in Brentwood in the Brentwood Trace development for under $115,000. In Franklin, you could look at Laurelwood, Indian Springs, and Executive Condos on Hillsboro Road. They are all in your price range.
There are a lot of cool condos in the Bellevue Area which is close to Brentwood (at least by backroads it seems close to me!) Belle Forest is really close to Edwin Warner Park. Creekside Meadows and Doral are also under $115,000.
Finding a home in these areas under $115,000 would be tough.

Hi,
I will be relocating to Nashville in a couple of weeks. My job is located in La Vergne, I would like to find a place that is within a 20 minute drive to work and also 20 minutes into the city.
It's been a challenge to find safe, affordable housing.
Also, is it possible to find affordable condos to rent in the city?
Thanks,
