Are there any small towns within a 50 mile radius of Nashville? If so, what are they and what can you tell me about them? I'd like to know things like what the schools are like, violent crime rate (is it high or low), what are the people in those towns like in general, etc. I know different people have different ideas of what classifies as a small town, so to be specific, when I say, "small town", I mean with a population of 2,000 or less. Thanks

Check out Ridgetop and Greenbrier in Robertson County. They have decent schools and very low rates of crime. You'll only be 20 minutes from Nashville but you will feel like you are a world away. There are some beautiful properties on the ridge with great views of the rolling hills and surrounding countryside.

Goodlettsville is much bigger than I was wanting to know about at this time. I am seeking info. on towns with a population of 2000 or less. I could be wrong but it seems that Goodlettsville is much bigger than that.

Have a look at Cross Plains, it's about 30 miles from Nashville and the pop. is around 1000 or less. Has good schools and virtually no crime that I know of. There is a Doctor, pharmacy, grocery store, post office, beauty and barber shops, gas station small cafe and a few other little shops. I love it here. There is also White House but I have heard their water bills are pretty high and Greenbriers water to.

Thank you to everyone who has replied here so far. I am not sure exactly where we will end up when we move to that area in June or July of this year, however I am very partial to small towns having grew up in one . Although I can't say where we will end up, or even if it will be in a small town at this point, we are definitely adding the places spoken of here to our list of places to check out when we come to scout areas in person next month!
