Default Austin to Nashville....

I'm moving from the liberal and hip Austin, TX to Nashville, TN in August. I've never been to Nashville but I have been hearing great things! I guess any info would be helpful but I especially need help finding a neighborhood to live in. I'll be working near the West End and I can't live too far from work cause my car is only getting older.... If anyone has any suggestions for a young 23 year old girl (hence i need a safe area!) please drop me a note! Thanks! I can't wait to get there!

That's the midtown area. If there's any place in Nashville that can be called "liberal and hip" that probably it. Almost any place around that area is relatively safe (just stay south of Charlotte Pike). Vanderbilt and Belmont Universities are located in that area; so there's lots and lots of young women in the area. Just use a few common sense precautions and you'll be fine.

The only problem with that area is it's a bit pricey for what you get.
