I posted this at Chattanooga, and reposted it here for suggestions.

"I am living in Nashville, a little bit more than two hours' drive from Chattanooga.

I decide to drive to Chattanooga next week, and explore that city either using one day or two days.

Any suggestion on attractions --The Aquarium will be a must--for such a short trip? Any good restaurant? Any authentic Chinese restaurant?

Also during the two-hour drive, is there any nice place I should stop and take a break? Believe it or it, 2-hour drive is a long drive to me.

Thanks."

Hi ,
If you stay a second day there are the 3 Attractions at Lookout Mountain. Beware , that the cave one is sometimes crowded to get thru. I liked Rock City , and the incline Railway.
I highly recommend the Hilton Garden inn which is a short walk to the Aquarium. As for Restaurants I recommend Sticky Fingers.
For the stop on the road I have 2 suggestions, Stuckys, Just before you climb the Mountain, it has a shop, restaurant, and bathroom facilities or the first stop at the top of Mt Eagle. There is a best western there with a gift shop, restaurant and bathroom facilities.
Have a Great Trip!!! I've done this about 5 times before.

My kids LOVE going to Chattanooga. In my opinion, I think the Tennessee Aquarium is kind of boring. I like the one in Gatlinburg much better. But that's just me. Our favorite things to do in "the Noog" are Rock City, Lookout Mountain and Point Park, walk across the Walnut Street Bridge and shop/ride the carousel, and check out the Trail of Tears memorial. We went to the Creative Discovery Museum, which was OK. Not the best children's museum I've seen. We also went to the Chickamauga Battlefield, which is probably boring for little kids, but good for history buffs. There also is a candy store downtown that my kids liked. We also stayed in the Hilton Garden Inn, which is very nice and in a great walkable location downtown. It's right next to the Lookouts stadium.

I love the TN Aquarium. I think it is much better than the New England Aquarium, but not as good as Georgia. We are members at the aquarium. We will do day trips a few times a year.

The falls are over rated.
