La Siesta and Camino Real are popular. I haven't had a bad experience at either. If you want something a little more home-style, Mexiven on Bradyville Pike, just past Minerva Dr. is good. Dining is takeout or al fresco only.

There's a new place open near the mall...I believe the name is Kava's, or something like that. I believe they specialize in South American food.

yeah, it's real nice - are you a bezillionaire or something? why not tell him he needs to bring a lotta ka-ching if he wants to live there....lol

traffic is awful there BTW - nothing like a ton of trucks rolling thru FRanklin at noon everyday to clog traffic...

Although Murfreesboro is one of the fastest growing areas in the state, it has managed to maintain his hometown feeling while offering more and more amenities for the residents here.

We moved to Murfreesboro from Brentwood and there is no comparison between the two areas. Murfreesboro does have some very nice communities, and they are developing Mary mont springs which will be our version of The Governor's Club. However, Murfreesboro is overall a nice middle-class community where Brentwood is a more exclusive high-end executive type community. Both are nice, both are different. It really depends on your price range and family life style.

Murfreesboro is very diverse and you will not feel like an outsider. I have had clients choose Murfreesboro over any other city in Middle TN that moved here from Los Angeles, San Diego, Manhattan, Wisconsin, all over FL, and even Kansas. It is just a great area with affordable housing and lots to offer.

The commute into Nashville can be rough during rush hour...but it is rough from almost anywhere outside of Nashville. I think it is easier than the commute from Spring Hill and not much longer than the commute from Hendersonville during peak times. (I lived in Hendersonville too!) On weekends and off peak hours, I can commute into Nasvhille in a little over 30 minutes and the drive to the airport is really easy because it is on this side of Nasvhille off of I24.

There are lots of churches here, and a lot of families here do like to attend church regularly. However, you shouldn't feel pressured or like an outsider if you choose not to attend. There are people here from all walks of life and options for everyone.

If you have any specific questions, just let me know.

YOu left out that houses are a LOT more affordable here - the same digs would cost a lot more in Williamson county wiht higher taxes...more traffic and more affluent kiddies malls like cool springs....

The pople on murfreesboro are much friendlier and less snooty than BRentwood...plus Brentwood is NOT TN at all

Smile Moving From Fl Too!

My family is also looking to move out of FL to Murfreesboro. What are the good and bad neighborhoods in Murfreesboro? We've been looking at developments zoned to the Siegel Schools since we've heard they're one of the best schools in Murfreesboro. We've looked at developments zoned to Blackman Schools but that area seems to be more congested than the Siegel areas. We loved Murfreesboro when we visited. The people were very friendly and waved as we drove by. Coming from FL it was a shock to see how different things are in other places. We're hoping to move soon...just waiting on our house to sell here in Miami (like everyone else it seems).

Default From Florida to Tn

Hi Countrypooh4, we also live in Miami and are thinking of moving to Tennessee. We really liked Nashville because we have family thera and it's still a decent size city yet it's not as crazy and expensive as Miami. We are now considering checking out Murfressboro because it seems to be much more affordable than Nashville. Coming from Miami, I was concerned that Murfreesboro may be too rural / Country compared to Miami? I like to know that if I want to go shopping or go to the theatre or a nice restaurant that I can.. and shopping to me does not mean walmart. What are your thoughts on this? We plan on visiting in the winter to see if we can live there.

Hi katcha70, we also loved Nashville and we have friends that just moved to Franklin, TN. We liked Murfreesboro because it's close to Nashville and so many other cities and states. Here in FL you can only travel to Key West or Orlando for a quick vacation. We also love the housing costs of Murfreesboro, very nice houses for the price. It's also a better place to raise our daughter. We'll be visiting the area again in November and hopefully moving there for good soon. Murfreesboro has many nice restaurants and they built The Avenues mall for great shopping. I wouldn't mind rural living but my husband prefers something in between and something close to a city like Nashville so Murfreesboro fits the bill. The fall there is beautiful. The winter can be cold, compared to Miami anything is cold, but it's great to see the seasons change. If you're tired of the hectic and congested lifestyle of Miami you'll love it in Murfreesboro. Good luck and let me know if you enjoy your visit. =)

Hi Troy,

I moved to Murfreesboro from Flordia about a month and a half ago. I love it here. You will not feel like an outsider. The peole here are very friendly and from all over. Murfreesboro is beautiful. It has so much to offer. You won't miss a thing about Florida. At least I haven't. Everything you could want is very available to you here. I transferred with my job, but my husband had to look for one, once we got here. He found one right away. It has been a great move for us. There are so many nice neighborhoods and homes here and at very reasonable prices.

Good Luck if you decide to move. I think you will enjoy here as much as I have.

Let's face it, if you could afford it, you would live in Brentwood. No question. It's a far more desirable place to live.
