Default Gambling in Nashville

Can anyone advise if there is legal gambiling (other than the lottery) in the Nashville area? i.e. hourse racing; casinos; private clubs; etc.

you are in the South.... do you know how hard it was to get the Lottery to TN? Lottery in TN is less than 10 years old.

I think you can riverboat gamble in Memphis

No, there is no gambling (well, legally) in Memphis, either. Even though it probably belongs in Mississippi, Memphis is still part of Tennessee.

There's gambling about a half hour south of Memphis in Tunica, Mississippi. Huge, gigantic casinos that can be seen from miles around in the middle of soybean fields. And they all have those awesome, all-you-can-eat buffets.

And there's a greyhound track just across the river in West Memphis, Arkansas.

On the other end of the state there's a Harrah's casino just across the line in Cherokee NC. It's certainly in a more beautiful setting than the ones in Tunica.

Harrahs Metropolis and casino Aztar are both about two hours north of Nashville. Kentucky Downs is just over the line in Franklin Kentucky.

There are also casinos just across the state line in Indiana from Louisville (about 2.5 hours away). Also one in Metropolis, IL, just across the state line from Paducah, KY.
