A slight correction, Jared,
McGavock Pike isn't in Inglewood, it's in Donelson, and in what they locals just call the Opryland area, or Two Rivers.
At least I don't think it ever finds it's way to Inglewood . . . never say never the way they name roads here.

Also- East Nashville isn't anywhere close to Gallatin. Again- it sounds like you're shooting blind here. But what the heck- buy it site unseen and move in.

AlleyCat & Sliverbox, you are both incorrect.
McGavock Pike is indeed in Inglewood. It starts at Gallatin Road and goes East. Then it takes a jog North/NE & heads up into the Riverwood section of Inglewood. There used to be a ferry that would take you over to the other side of the River, and bring you out close to Opryland, but the ferry has been shut down for a while.
Sliver, Gallatin Road is a major thoroughfare in East Nashville. Among the businesses on Gallatin in East Nashville is Kroger, Hill's grocery store, Save A Lot, and Walgreens, PayLess shoes, and a Wal-Mart grocery store.

Jared, the McGavock Pike area in Inglewood is very nice, especially the Riverwood area. Many of the homes in Riverwood are on large lots, with plenty of trees. Prices vary, you will need to get with a realtor to get a better idea. There are realtors on our list-serv that could help you, just give me a holler.

Thanks, most of you, for being helpful. We've narrowed our search with our realtor and will be viewing a couple of properties in the next few days.

There's a couple of YouTube videos of the "funkier" side of East Nashville. I can't post a link (it would be removed) but you could easily find them just by doing a search.

East Nashville Crime: You might want to check out the crime in East Nashville. I bought years ago and have never witnessed so much crack heads, shooting, prostitution and burglaries in my life and all because Nashville Housing Natzis thinks it legal to house felons which it is not.
Call the police? Been there, done that and they do nothing. Been going on for over 30 yrs and they believe in illegal drug trafficing on the streets of Nashville.
Max your insurance you will need it if you move to "CRACK CITY USA".

Actually, there is a McGavock pike in Inglewood/East Nashville. It is located just north of Trinity Lane. It dead ends into the Cumberland River that starts back up on the Donelson side. McGavock pike closer to Gallatin Road is not a very nice looking neighborhood but the closer you get to Cumberland River the better it looks.
