You see currently I live on a 40 acre farm where my big girl dogs can roam, where the deer run and the fish jump and the frogs croak..then there are the snakes;-) .....so trying to find a place with some elbow room for me and the girls and still be able to join with people and ministries is what I am searching for. Going down in July and praying for a place that suits me and the puppies...lol

So, you just want to be around country music or do you have something else going to want to come to Nashville?

God bless you Barb,

So lets get to the meat of it. What about the snakes. This is a major concern of mine. I am deathly afraid of snakes...even the little non-poisonous ones. In Michigan, I don't see them much. Will I in TN? Just be honest....thanks.

I haven't seen a snake in years, but then I live in a developed neighborhood. I have heard friends mention seeing snakes this year but they both live near a creek. I think sometimes new housing developments on previous open fields sometimes drives the snakes from their homes and sometimes they are looking for a place to hide, not to harm anyone.

I was talking about my snakes in PA....and they live in the 2 ponds by my house. Many snakes love the water, but it isn't like they are hanging out just so you would fear them....they like hot and they like water and they like to be left alone. When I am near the area they are...they go and hide, unless my dog sees them first and she gets them and then she'll sit there and be so proud of herself. I hope you are feeling better. No intention to upset you at all. Peace be still.....

How does White House compare to Springfield? We may be moving to TN and I am trying to get a feel for the area. My husband would be working in Springfield, but most of the people in his office commute from Brentwood! Crazy! Not only is it too far, it is so expensive. I have been looking at homes online in Springfield, White House and Goodlettesville. We would like at least 2 acres with trees. Wishful thinking?

Hi,
I am not from TN YET but have been doing lots of research, especialy near White house and Springfield. In between the 2 there is lots of land. My understanding is most places are 5+ acres. Everyone has said that White House is closer to the freeway for heading into Nashville and this Mall is going in near it or was it a Wal-Mart? Not sure ...but anyway, what I wanted to say was You'll find what you are looking for in that area.

I am going there in a few weeks and will try to let you know first hand what I saw.

peace to you,
Optimum

My sister in law lives in Knoxville and loves it. They have a boat, and go out on the river, and the schools are good also.
My cousin lives in Brentwood, near Nashville, and loves it also. He is an insurance agent, and if you wish, I could get him to get you some advise on where to live in the area. He has 2 children as well, and his wife is a stay at home mom. They are really enjoying the area.

Barb,

Hey my name is Ashley and I live in White House, TN. I was randomly searching the web and came across this forum. I have lived in the area my whole life so if you have any questions I would be glad to answer them if I can. Just let me know.

Hi Barb,

I live in White House and love it here. I have lived closer and worked downtown. I love being able to come home to White House. I have relatives that live in and around Nashville and they always say "I'm so close to everything." but normally it takes them about the same time (because of the congrestion) to get anywhere. My 15 min drive to the mall is the same distance my aunt would have to drive also. I have young children and prefer the school district and smaller classrooms. I just love the small town feel with the conveniences of having a metropolitan city next door.

If you have any questions, just let me know. Chris

Plus ~ I live in Pleasant Grove Estates on the end of a cul-de-sac and I have yet to see a snake here.
