Just visited White House, TN
I was visiting a friend in Indiana and she drove me down to check out White House, TN. We were told it would be a great place to live. What a nice town. The people were so friendly. So far I think it's the place for us. Has anyone been to White House, TN? I'd love to know hear any info you have on it. It seems like the BIG news everyone kept sharing with me is that the new Super Walmart is being built. Thanks.

TNNative lives in that area. He (or she, I'm not sure) posts here occasionally.
If TN doesn't find this thread, you might send them a PM.

Thanks. I'll try to get in contact with TNNative. I found a house I'm in love with and would really like to get another opinion on the area before we commit.

It should be a nice area. I haven't been there in several years (it's kind of out of the way unless you live out in that direction). I don't hear of anything bad happening there. Actually, I don't hear anything of White House most of the time.
About the only thing negative I can say about living in that direction is that you have to come though the I-24/I-65 split at Trinity Lane if you're coming into or out of Nashville. Often there's a bottleneck there, but then it's not the only one around here.

I have spent some time there....It is beautiful. There is 2 schools districts there...so if you have kids, you may want to look at that.
I have a client who has a beautiful custom home in White House...and cannot wait to get out of there...she feels very remote..and longs for being closer to more activity. Its a trek to go anywhere ( according to her).
Every town I have been to....the locals are friendly....guess its that famous ~southern hospitality~ !!

Just wondering Barb,
What did you think about the country areas in White House? I have been doing lots of research there but have gotten good advice in these forums about the distance to the city, since I am hoping to be involved 'in' Nashville. Other than that, everything I have read and seen(over the internet) appears to be an awesome land to live in But I love the country!!
May you find what you are looking for!!
in peace,
Optimum

Optimum,
The area I was looking at were houses with about 1.4 acre of land which is more land than I have in Connecticut. Coming from the northeast, I think this part of TN has less trees and not as moutainous. I have to say that everyone I spoke to in White House from people at the grocery store to those at stores, etc. were all very nice and made me feel at home. I'm told it's about a 25 minute ride into Nashville. I'm not sure if White House would be country enough for you if you're looking for more land but there's probably more land for your money as you go a little farther out. All I can say is that White House more than lived up to being a nice place to live.
If I can answer anything else, let me know. I LOVE country music and can't wait to move.

Thanks for the answer Barb,
I have done a satellite shot of the area between Springfield and White House. I contacted someone there that has a rental on 10 acres. It looked beautiful!! But, I do want to be close to the activity in Nashville and am looking closer to it also, at this time. You see currently I live on a 40 acre farm where my big girl dogs can roam, where the deer run and the fish jump and the frogs croak..then there are the snakes;-) .....so trying to find a place with some elbow room for me and the girls and still be able to join with people and ministries is what I am searching for. Going down in July and praying for a place that suits me and the puppies...lol
So, you just want to be around country music or do you have something else going to want to come to Nashville?
God bless you Barb,
Optimum

TNNative, I got your email. Thank you so much. It's really helpful.
Optimum, I just happen to grow up loving country music and would really enjoy living near Nashville and visiting all the sites as well as going to concerts. I hope you find the home you're looking for when you go down in July. Keep me posted on how you make out.
