Default Another relocation thread..

I'm sure you're tired of getting the same question, but my situation is a little different. I'm going to be moving to Nashville this year and have been doing tons of research on apartments and locations but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I'm going to attend Belmont University so I don't want to be too far from that area, and would like to be close to downtown Nashville as well. My only problem is that I'm going to be living on my own(and I'm only 19 years old) so the most I could afford is probably $500-600/month for rent.. is that even possible for the area I'm looking at?
I'm planning to make a visit in July, and the areas I've been told to look at are Hillsboro Village, East Nashville, Green Hills.. etc. but I haven't really found anything in my price range. Does anyone know of any apartment complexes in those areas that are nice, safe, and affordable?
Any help is much appreciated.. thanks!

I would start looking for a roommate situation. I'm not sure what the sites are etc, but when I was not married I couldn't afford to have my own place and always lived in roommate situations.

Yeah I'm beginning to see that after doing more research.. seems near impossible for my budget.
So if I get a roommate, does anyone know of any nice apartment complexes in the area for around $800-900?

If you can't find a room mate the first year, check out the Sylvan Heights area. The apts & houses can be a little run down, but it's a nice, safe area. I have two friends who are currently renting a small 2 bedroom for $500 plus utilities. It's probably about 600sqft. She previously rented a duplex on Kirkwood (2 bedroom, a about the same size) for $600 plus utilities.

That's pretty good.. I'm not picky about size or upgrades/renovations so I will definitely consider that. Thank you very much!
