I must take a minute to tell you about an African Grey parrot. S/he is in a pet store near me. They've had it since it was six months old and it is now about a year old. I read that they can start talking as early as 4 or 5 months so each time I go in I stop and talk. Hello, hi, click my tongue but say a lot of the same thing. I've said "kitty kitty" and mostly I've been saying "Pretty Grey" which is what I want to hear! Today I walked in and he said "Hello!" He/she is beautiful and comes right up to the side and tilts his head as I talk. It really would be fun to hear him say kitty kitty! The cost is only $1200! If only!

You were up at North Padre Island, we're down here at South Padre. I'm surprised you guys didn't see any up there, we're only 3 hours away.

Oh! Thanks Sabby great pics btw! Wow that's a bunch. We saw little except plenty seagulls... Which we fed up close.

I was holding the camera myself for both shots.

Interesting. Looks like a bunch of plastic bags from a distance.

Amazing photos, thanks sabby!!!

... very unusual...

Any info in the local paper or on tv news about the possible reason?

I have never seen one alive on on the beach...but was thinking they were mostly "clear" where here they are obviously blue... anyone know about this?

Enjoyed your photos, SATX56...you have a steady hand!

Interesting gulls...we do not have a black-headed one here on the east coast...

Lately every night we've had an owl perched upon our rooftop over our bedroom window. it must be one of those horny ones the way it hoots and hollers for hours at a time.
Looks like this one...
