I've observed forecast highs are a bit lower. Could it be? Is summer already beginning to wind down? It's a bit early, but I'm for it.

Here on the Cumberland Plateau TN it's been in the 60's at night mid / high 70's...

Sounds as though your weather is similar to ours, though our lows are in the mid-50s. The Seattle Times reported that we would start to see dropping highs and lows, as of this week -- thank GOD, I might add (though of course I do know that God doesn't have anything to do with our physical world).

The only nature I've seen today was the human and canine variety -- and the butterflies that frequent my yard. Too hot for even the birds and squirrels -- all under cover, I guess. Probably panting.

Here in the middle of Tennessee on the Cumberland Plateau been misty drizzly rain on again off again for week or more, better than Florida heat !!! Just some doves - house finches at the feeder today..
