That is a sweetness that brings tears. I don't often see stories of a dog living 19 years. If you read the full article, it leaves worry about the man after the dog passes away. I hope he honors his dog by continuing with caring for animals.
Very funny! One guy using the sticky roller to brush off hair! If the herd hasn't been digitally altered, that's a lot of cats! There was another commercial with cowboys herding cats. I saw a report on that one and what we saw in the commercial was all for real and many cats swam across the stream. Hope the cats are getting good pay for all the hard work!
"Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat.
If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat."

Apparently it isn't just me that is having little visibility of actual wildlife....
I DID see a huge slug on my bird bath yesterday morning as I was watering the plants. This morning there was one little dark-eyed junco rummaging around the plants for bugs (trying to avoid my spray).

Oh, D Kitty, this is the PNW -- the slug is our state mascot!
I would have to cover my entire yard with coffee grounds -- and frankly we probably generate enough grounds. (It is Seattle metro, after all!)
Thanks for thinking of me, but I just let the fat sucker get his drink and move on.
As an aside, when we lived in the U-District (where we were much closer to the street, I used to fling them out into the street as I came across them -- with my weeding tool, of course. That stopped the day a car drove over one just after I'd flung it. I felt terrible! Now, I just let them ooze on their merry way and pray for ducks to come visit. (They never do.)
My bigger problem right now is finding someone to come remove the bees that are settling into an opening above our back door. DH bought the poison, but when I threw a fit he gave me a small window of time to get someone to come take them away. I sent out an email to three different bee people, and am now crossing my fingers.
