I went to visit my brother and sister in law last week and went out to do laps in the pool at 5 a.m. (Yes, I'm that nutty). I went to the shallow end of the pool where the stairs were and there is that silver slanted railing on those steps like any inground pool. I stepped onto the first step then looked at the same step on the other side of the railing only to be greeted by Jeramiah here just sitting there.
nice sweetgum leaf. the main thing turning color around here is poison ivy. it's actually a pretty attractive shade of red

Don't keep us in suspense. Did he go for a swim, too?

I just looked at him startled and said aloud, "Well, good morning Jeramiah!" I backed out of swimming that morning because the area was dimly lit and, well, if Jeramiah was sitting there on the step - I wasn't sure what else was in the water. In that area it's not uncommon to find anacondas in swimming pools or Gila Monsters. I waited until later.
