Another regular at my bird feeders didn't let a little rain stop him from visiting.

We've had heavy fog in the mornings...and at night. So eerie, I love it.

They are so fun to watch...where I lived previously in NC, we fed them the black oil sunflower seeds. Well, they would eat, but also place seeds in their mouths, until cheeks were bulging, then run off to store them in their winter, underground lair...and return for more.

I think they had 20-30 lbs or so stored... industrious little animals!

Gotta say I miss the little rascals and look forward seeing them again in the spring.

That is so surprising! The owl likes the dog more than the dog likes owl, it seems...how unusual...maybe they raised the owl from owlet stage?

A unique relationship! Both beautiful creatures. I enjoyed the way the owl hesitated grabbing with that right foot ... kept reaching and squeezing those claws ... not yet ... wanna do this .... gotta do this ... and finally grabbing some hair. The dog was very tolerant!

The grackle pictured below is learning that being greedy can lead to complications. With a beak-full of sticky suet, he decides he can't let a peanut go unclaimed either. Hope he didn't choke.

My hair looks like that when I'm out in the rain.

It's just the humidity. Anyway I'm glad to have any hair.

The other day I was driving on the highway and a large, possible red-tailed, hawk swooped down right in front of my truck. If I'd been driving a little faster . . .
