Thanks, both. And yes, he does. It may well be that his young'uns were nearby. From my observations, Cardinals are the most vigilant Dads in my bird world. I've often seen juveniles being escorted/taught/minded by the male. I think Mom Cardinal's job is pretty much done once the kids have left the nest.

Truthfully, I don't think birds are angry. Their facial features are rather fixed. Unlike expressive human features. Hence we misinterpret and anthropomorphize.

Cardinals with attitudes, This shot is from my backyard feeder in Fl with a Automated Bird Cam the Cardinal was so PO he attacked the camera several times..pecking and banging into the unit the size of a shoe box.

Yep, that Cardinal has the glare down too.

Kingbirds, like the one pictured below, are annual visitors to the field across from my house and often nest in one of the wild pear trees that dot the field.

I saw Puffins off the coast of Maine...they were perched on a small, rocky island, then began flying around the boat...a favorite birding experience!
