Wow, Almy. That is beyond scary! I have heard a million times over, a mother moose and her baby are THE most dangerous things in the woods. Besides a mother grizzly, of course. That is very cool. Just say, "KIDS! Do not try this at home!!!" when you tell that story or post it here.

Some idgit will go to yellowstone and try and feed the cute baby moose a snicker bar or something, then we will see Mooses and Meeses hoof prints all over his buttocks!

This isn't my own nature observation, but I'll share it anyway. I just received this photo in an email message from a friend who lives less than a mile from my home. Her house is on a busy, main street in our town. She came home from grocery shopping yesterday and saw these beauties in her backyard!

Wish I had my camera with me yesterday. I was going for a walk and along the edge of a mesa saw a red tail hawk just hovering in the wind, about 50 yards from me. Just a beautiful sight.

An hour ago walking to the mailbox (it's a mile away), I saw about 20 or so deer run across a field and into nearby woods. Very cool to see them bouncing along. I really need to start taking my camera with me.
