Deer have a nasty habit of circling around a hunter and letting that hunter know. I don't like being shot at.The majority of the time the hunter is now being hunted.
Good Housekeeping along the banks of the Lower Flathead River at Perma Montana. ~♥~
We have Red-Headed woodpeckers that hang around this area. They are so cool to watch. Large and visible they are. I'll have to get a pic of one in action.

Seriously? I've been hunting deer for 40 years and it's been my experience that if a deer in the wild detects human scent or human activity of any kind, it immediately leaves the area. I have known them to circle downwind to check for danger as most big game animals do and if they pick up human scent, they high tail it out of there. They trust their keen sense of smell more so than their vision and hearing but as far as being the hunter as you suggested, I've not witnessed that and I've spent a lot of time in tree stands with lots of deer all around me. I shoot most of my deer with a digital camera these days.
