I have a bird bath right outside my kitchen window. I've seen, lately, a large robin pushing away the other bathers. She sits in the middle and pecks the sparrows till they leave.
I love watching all of them take baths;they use a lot of water. By morning, the day before's water is gone. Sometimes there will be 7-8 sparrows splashing around. We have bluebirds, cardinals, too, in and out of our yard--regulars. My husband saw a large woodpecker last fall in the front yard tree--rare for these parts according to my bird expert friend. We have Montezuma west of here, so we get loads of birds flying through here.
Sounds like my garden I especially love to watch our Robin family!
We had a Towhee once perch on the car side mirror---stayed about 20 min, long time-just pecking away at his reflection!

Heehee...yes, chattering of cats is hilarious... One of mine jumps at the window, hoping to make a catch-
My little Tabby would open her mouth, kinda drool and make cat noises when she saw the "birdies." She knew what that meant and would fly to the glass sliding door when I'd yell, "Birdies."
I live in a rural area and there are a few parks out my way that are remote and have a lot of wooded trails. Since they are so far out, they're rarely frequented and very peaceful. I enjoy walking the trails, especially in the evenings. Part of one of the trails that I frequently hike goes through a pine forest. I have noticed this year that there are 3 or 4 young screech owls that like to hang out in these tall pine trees. They just sit there and stare at me. They are absolutely awesome to watch. I just don't see owls that much, so to me, these are a delight to watch. They only come out in the evenings though. I hike this trail almost every evening just to go watch the owls.
Out trimming brush the other day with the string line trimmer. Got my rubber boots on my ear protector and I am clearing just in rhythm with the tool......then with no warning I feel something on my foot. I can't see it because I am up too my in brush. Then on the other foot.... I am thinking "BIG SNAKE" then it moves. Big ole dad Wabbit ---followed by mother Wabbit ---and a heard of baby Wabbits about 6-8 running for their lives away from that 2 cycle screaming machine...... the little ones about the size of a lemon. Time for a break...my heart beating like a race horse after a 1/4 mile .
