Cool-ish this evening, downright cold to me, after how many months of 80 plus!! It's 63, breezy, and just lovely on my porch tonight.

Parked under an oak tree. Found little acorns on my truck's flat bed cover.

I found an oak leaf with things on it that are either bug eggs or galls, which are a buggy thing too. But these are on a leaf, not a limb.

In the world of software development, those little extras are called "features."

Think of it as getting added value for your nature viewing pleasure.

Saw 4 deer running down the road this morning. One adult, 3 young ones. We had relatives from New Zealand come visit, they could not believe all the deer in our suburban neighborhood. They thought it was cool, uh no, they love ALL flowers and I'm through with providing "exotic salads" for the deer.

FYI; no squirrels in New Zealand. My cousin sat for hours watching them.

Thanks for sharing their reactions to our wildlife. I feel like I know New Zealand just a tiny bit more than before, now.

Walnuts are dropping out of the trees here.

And we have a runt squirrel in the neighborhood. The neighbors say that he has been around too long to be a baby, so he is just a little squirrel. He's cute!

I've observed a few spiders have come in the house now that the nights are cooler.

This morning was watching a Hawk sitting in a tree limb across from my patio watching me. We had a nice staring contest for several minutes until he glanced to his right and flew down by the river about 100 feet away. He came up with a mouse. Pretty darn amazing. And no he didn't share.

Not really enough for two.

Birds are awesome at hunting rodents. Coyotes are, too.
