Mourning doves make the worse looking nests in all of the bird kingdom. Look like a leaky platform with nothing holding them together. Yet, they work somehow.

Here's a peek inside one of my purple martin gourds. They're just a few days old.

Glad to learn this isn't just one dumb dove.

I have no idea how come the eggs don't roll out of the nest or how the babies survive. But, they do. I found a typical nest on a google search.sloppy looking.

Wow, that nest is pretty skimpy. Could it be that they just ran out of time due to bad weather or had trouble finding a suitable location?

That is a very typical nest for them.

Tomorrow I'll try to take some pictures there are at least 4 nests in the evergreens next to my house. They all look like the one in the Google picture.

Yep, that looks about the same. By comparison the nests of some bird species are very well constructed.

I couldn't find my good camera. I must have left it at the other house we have on the Rez. But I used my Cheap Video recorder.

Quality is lacking and the volume is very poor but you may be able to make out the dove nests. They look basically like platforms made out of sticks.
