OK - this dude is what I've been calling our "goat deer". Have seen it twice on our property. First time with a full size normal colored doe, and second time by itself. It's not normal fawn shaped, but instead has a very rotund barrel shape. Short but not slim.
Sorry for picture quality - taken with phone at a distance. We're trying for better ones with the camera.

While on the road heading back home a couple of weeks ago I saw a flock of cranes heading south from the Platte River are of Nebr. Later in the day I noticed a group of geese trying to find warmer weather as well.
Monday 1/19: red tailed hawk, juncos, cardinals, robins, white-breasted nuthatch, blue jay, black vulture, downy woodpecker, white throated sparrows, a pair of Northern flickers (beautiful!), and an adorable little yellow-bellied sapsucker.
I saw a dead rabbit in pieces on my road this morning right in front of my entrance,a piece of leg on my lawn,bunny tail by the tree...wonder what killed it
As, everyday wild cockatoos, having a loud ol time.
