Great...I have not seen too many, maybe it is too hot here. I love to watch them argue but it seems they would get more to "eat/drink" if they would just take turns nicely.

LOL. No chance.

Is this wetlands complex near SA, satx56? If so...have you seen any ducks and birds summering there?? Love the wetlands but coastal SC gets wintering ducks and birds so not much happening here yet.

No hummingbirds around here lately. They'd roast with their high energy output and out 100+ temps everyday. Not to mention a total all out drought.

It's right in my backyard practically. Ran around the area all my life. The shooting range we went to last week is next to it. I've not been in it since it has become a bird watchers paradise. I'm on the edge of town and we have many lakes nearby so I see many birds. Though I'm not very knowledgeable in identifying them. It's actually an ancient lake which was used as the city's sewage dump for many years. It's about a mile from my house as the crow flies....

Was it the squirrel or the rabbit? Now just which was doing the holding?

Years ago i saw a mother bird feeding her 2 birdlets. (is that a word?)

This was at an outdoor fountain near tables where people eat lunch. One baby bird was noticeably bigger than the other, since as you know even in the nests of some bird species they compete for food from the parents. Well, the big one was getting the most food. The little one was kind of standing by a few feet away.

Finally, the mother bird picked up a one of those orange crackers with peanut butter that someone had dropped. She took it to the little one and he was too small to eat it. She picked it up and flew away. Oh, no!

But then she flew to the fountain, set the cracker down and used the water to break up the cracker. Then she delivered the bits of cracker back to the little one piece by piece.

This is not the birds in question, but the picture fits.

Wow! Great story! I'll never complain if anyone calls me a bird brain!

This fabulous dog was on America's Got Talent last night and even more impressive than on this video. In his act he pressed a buzzer mimicking Piers and then lifted his leg on a Piers cutout. I love this dog!
