Got a giggle from a couple of squirrels chasing each other round and round a fat tree trunk. Not sure how long it lasted, but they didn't seem to notice no one was winning.

Today I had a close encounter of the wrong kind. On the way to the mail box in bare feet I saw a red wasp dive into the grass just in time to step side ways. Bare feet just don't hold up well against those stingers.

I can attest to the menacing danger presented by red wasps. I'd prefer a snake bite!

Geeeezz I am always terrified seeing a red wasp.. .. Anyway in the community where I work I can see birds and pigeons creating nests on top of buildings or on lamp post.. No trees for them.

Toads are a pain! Several of them burrowed under my Oregon sweet pea's, took out a few Cosmos and launched an offensive against my green beans.

I think I need more Gopher snakes!

Last year I observed a squashed red wasp. This was after I grabbed and squeezed the toe of my shoe and anxiously pulled my foot back out, then shook it out to take a look at what had bitten me. I suppose I was happy to see it was a wasp instead of a spider. It had apparently gotten in from the garage. I kept casual shoes in the hallway just inside that door and the wasp had snuggled all the way up into the toe. My toe pushing into it must have defeated the worst part of the sting. But it still itched and swelled. Since then I do not put my foot into any shoe from any room or closet without tapping and making sure it's empty.

Glad you didn't step on your red wasp.
